The Revolving Door:
The firm, Squire Patton Boggs, hired Katie Novaria from the House Committee on Energy and Commerce as an adviser in its public policy practice. She served most recently as professional staff to the subcommittee on Health. "We've had great success in passing a number of important laws to improve the public health, and a majority have Katie’s fingerprints on them," Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) said in a statement. Novaria previously worked for Upton and Congressman Joe Knollenberg (R-Mich.).

Pledge Plea:
Eighteen organizations, including Common Cause and Public Citizen, want the presidential candidates to commit not to appoint financial oversight officials who have a "government service golden parachute" and to require financial regulators to recuse themselves from matters affecting previous employers or clients.
