About

I'm not an investigative journalist. I'm just a guy who has grown wary of the shadows lurking behind the public face of politics, both liberal and conservative.

As humankind struggles against its better angels, the challenges we face every day grow ever more complex. Who's telling the truth? Who defines truth? Can truth be defined at all? What's more important - political power or personal empowerment? Competition or co-operation? Economic expansion or sustainability? When does need become greed? When does the Law become an instrument of force instead of justice? With the propaganda merchants working had to blur the lines, how can one tell when they're crossed?

The constitution guarantees a free press, yet there is no guarantee that the same press puts the interests of the public at the front of the line. And history has repeatedly shown that political systems which lack transparency cannot last. Add to that the current administration's disturbing demonizing of otherwise trusted information outlets as propagators of "fake news"

Posts curated for this blog reflect my personal bias. I favor sources with information and ideas that reach out and pull me in. I don't see a corporation being the same as a person, and I think the influence that money now has in government is destructive to the ideal of representative government. The only government policy or cause that matters, regardless of ideology, is one that places the well being and self-determination of its people first.
